Yorkshire Group

This group has its main activity in West and South Yorkshire but welcomes members from anywhere in Yorkshire and surrounding districts. The Yorkshire Group is run by Nigel Hilling and members attend many events both within Yorkshire and further afield (nhilling@gmail.com or phone 01484 843115 before 9:00pm)
Note that their are also Regional Groups for North Yorkshire/Teesside and East Yorkshire/North Lincs - see the main FSOC website or Sidevalve for contact details.

Meetings

Social meetings take place on the last Tuesday of every month (except December and sometimes one summer month) from 7.00pm at The Reindeer Inn, 204 Old Road, Overton, Wakefield WF4 4RL
This is just off the A642 Huddersfield to Wakefield road close to the National Mining Museum.

Road Runs - 2019

Sun 28 April 2019 - Drive It Day

A small group of us joined in the end of the YHVG run from York to Sherburn Airfield where there were about 50 assorted classics. the weather was reasonable and the clubhouse were serving bacon sandwiches and full Sunday lunches.

Mon 24th June 2019 - Hope Motor Show

A select few met for Sunday lunch at the Yorkshire Bridge Inn before a 25 mile scenic run to Brierlow Bar Bookstore and Cafe and then on to Hope Show. A poor weather forecast was thnkfully wrong and we enjoyed a dry run and time at the show.

Here's hoping we can do something in 2023!

Visits

The Motorist at Sherburn in Elmet has events on Wednesday and Friday evenings as well as Saturday and Sunday every week through the year. The Sunday Cars and Coffee event is particularly busy. The Motorist

Classic Car Trials

Ford Sidevalves in many forms have taken part in different types of Motor Sport for many years. Classic trials, or Mudplugging Trials, is one such discipline where Pops and Anglias were often the car of choice in the 50s and 60s (Dellows and Bucklers originated as trials cars). They are still used today by a small number of enthusiasts including myself with "Stan the Anglia" which is often featured in the Yorkshire regional report in the Sidevalve News.
